The hub and spoke delivery model

Sendle operates with "hub and spoke" providers rather than point-to-point.

It’s more like parcels taking public transport, rather than each one driving in their own car. It’s much more cost-effective and environmentally friendly. And that’s exactly why we do it this way.

How it works

What this ‘hub and spoke’ delivery model looks like in action:

  1. Parcels are picked up by a driver (who is on their regular route).
  2. Then they are taken back to the depot (delivery hub).
  3. The parcels are sorted and loaded to travel between depots overnight (if intercity).
  4. Then they’re loaded for delivery in the local area during the driver's normal run.

It’s much more efficient for you because you get a driver coming to your door (rather than waiting in line at a post office!) and better for the environment as there are less cars on the road.
