Duplicate Charges

Occasionally banks will show extra charges on your statement. This is often caused by an 'authorisation' or 'holding charge' where the payment processor is simply checking to see if you have enough funds and then immediately cancelling it.

Due to banking technology this sometimes takes a few days to disappear. If you think that you've been charged the wrong amount and you've waited a 5-10 days for this process to resolve itself then please let us know and we'll help you get to the bottom of it (include your statement as an attachment when you contact Sendle Support).

$1 Authorisation Charge

If you see a $1 charge on your bank statement please don't worry, it'll disappear.

Although this may look like a charge, it's important to know that it is not a charge, and will disappear from your statement, depending on the bank, anywhere from a few minutes to a few weeks.

Why does this happen?

Sendle uses STRIPE to collect payment. On certain credit cards STRIPE use an authorisation process that results in a $0 or $1 request being sent to the issuing bank in order to ensure the card is valid and the bank will allow a charge to be authorised.

This is a standard protocol in online payments, and is automatically reversed, so you'll never pay a cent more than you should have to.
